Enjoy a delightful tour to the fabulous town of St Andrews in the Kingdom of Fife andexperience the magical charm and beauty of the area including the quaint little fishing villages in the East Neuk, an area otherwise known as a 'Strip of Gold on a Beggar's Mantle'. St Andrews, our main destination, renowned as the home of golf in the world but also one of the most fascinating travel destinations. Originally the town was the ecclesiastical centre of Scotland and to present day it is home to our oldest University celebrating 600 years old in 2013. We start early morning from Edinburgh area and head North across the Forth Road Bridge and into the Kingdom of Fife. Our journey takes us through some lovely rich agricultural landscape, along small lanes and roads off the beaten track, where the large tour buses cannot go. Our first stop is the historic village of Falkland where you can stroll around the village and see the 15th Century Palace and country hunting estate of Mary, Queen of Scots. We continue to St Andrews and show you all the main attractions in and around the town, the university and of course, the famous links golf courses. You'll have plenty opportunity to walk around the town, the Old Course on the public footpath and have time for a bite to eat or refreshment at one of the establishments overlooking the famous Old Course etc. After lunch we continue through the East Neuk of Fife where the treasures of Fife await you at almost every corner with each village having its own individual character and charm. We stop frequently on route to ensure you have good opportunity to absorb the magic.
