Enjoy a full day of intrigue, sure to surpass all expectations as we take you on an amazing journey of discovery to visit three of Scotland's special attractions. This tour focuses on the attractions but with some nice scenery on route. Our journey starts with a scenic journey through the rich agricultural farmlands in the Kingdom of Fife before crossing the impressive Queensferry crossing. First visit is the mysterious Rosslyn Chapel (which featured highly in the blockbuster movie 'The Da Vinci code'. We then continue our journey to Linlithgow Palace, birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots, and film location for the US TV series OUTLANDER which featured the Palace as Wentworth Prison shown in the first series. Here you'll find another amazing place full of secrets and orders. You'll have opportunity to stop for a pub lunch at a favourite old tavern or simply have a picnic lunch together with plenty time to enjoy the area and decipher the next part of the route. We continue our journey in the afternoon with a visit to the historic battlegrounds of independence, Stirling Castle and much more. Our return journey back takes in some lovely scenery off the beaten track. An exceptionally intriguing and fascinating journey!
This tour is a full day excursion from Dundee or St Andrews area
Suitable for most ages and abilities although please be aware the castle and palace was not designed for easy access and may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties. Please check/advise in advance so we can adjust itinerary to suit.
