Enjoy a private tour / shore excursion from the Port of Invergordon This tour has something for all the family with fantastic scenery & fabulous attractions in equal amounts. The day starts with a scenic drive through some beautiful agricultural land and our first stop is the highland town of Beauly where you can visit the ancient ruins of Beauly Priory (meaning beautiful place) built around 800 years ago. We continue onward to Loch Ness where you have opportunity to visit the stunning ruins of Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness and search for Nessie (our legendary monster). We'll then continue south along the shoreline of Loch Ness stopping to visit the bustling little town of Fort Augustus where you can see boats passing through the Caledonian Canal to/from Loch Ness. We continue through some beautiful scenery towards Inverness and Culloden Battlefield, site of the last major battle on the UK mainland in 1746. Lunch and refreshment stop on route (to suit). We also visit the impressive and intriguing 5000 year old Standing stones and Burial Cairns at Balnuaran of Clava. Altogether, this is a fabulous day trip with an itinerary that can be adjusted to suit your interests and abilities etc.!
